Types of Car Insurance Coverage
I can remember when i bought my first car and contemplated car insurance coverage. I was 23 years old and i had purchased quite a nice car for a good price. I was overwhelmingly anxious to get it on the road, so when i chose my insurance i really didn’t know much about all the terms or types of insurance there was. I just wanted to drive! I know i should have taken a little more time to understand what i needed and what i was purchasing and i would have made better decisions when considering auto insurance.
Car Insurance Coverage
In this article L.A. Insurance will help you to understand types of car insurance coverage available to us in an Insurance Policy more thoroughly.
There are different areas of car insurance coverage that many of us do not understand. Some ares are mandatory to a policy and some are optional.
All L.A. Insurance policies must have Liability Coverage, and the same with any other auto insurance company. Liability covers any cost due to injuries you cause to another person or any damage you cause to another vehicle. This car insurance coverage is mandatory in most states and provinces.
Collision Coverage, covers any damage to your own vehicle regardless of fault. It also covers damage to your vehicle when someone else is driving it. This type of coverage is required on vehicles that have a loan against them by the bank or a financial institution.
Comprehensive Coverage will cover other incidents such as theft, natural disasters, damage incurred when your vehicle is parked , and also vandalism. This type of car insurance coverage is also required by banks and financial institutions on vehicles with loans against them.
Other options are also available through some insurance agencies as well as L.A. Insurance policies, these are;
Medical Payment Coverage that will cover any passengers or person that have been injured in or out of the car during and accident whether you are at fault or not.
Personal Injury Protection will cover medical expenses for yourself as well as lost wages and other costs.
Uninsured Motorist Coverage (Under insured Motorist Coverage) will cover the cost of repairs for your vehicle if an uninsured driver causes an accident.
Since each state or province has limits on car insurance coverage,
make sure your policy meets these requirements.
Now that we have a clearer understanding of the basic car insurance coverage, you may want to look at Policy Terms and Conditions, in the L.A. Insurance Now Information Online list of articles.
